Vice President | Head of Creative
As the Director of Video Production, Neil Erker has led the Abstrakt Studios crew for nearly three years. Prior to joining (and building) the video team, he spent time living in Chicago while working at Leo Burnett in both video production and new business roles. Neil is passionate about telling compelling stories through music, photography, and film and loves to bring creative visions to life in almost any medium. Having worked on brands like Cheez-It, Marshalls, Allstate, Rice Krispies Treats, and Suntrup Automotive, Neil brings a wealth of experience and expertise to each and every Abstrakt Studios project. Plus, he also has experience producing a television show (The Interview Show with Mark Bazer) that airs on WTTW (PBS in Chicago).
Neil currently writes, records, and performs in the following musical projects: Portable Models, Many Places, and Jones Street Station. He and his wife, Libby, live in University City (his hometown) with their three children, David, Daisy Jane, and Sammy.
Creative Director | Executive Producer
Eight years ago, Scott Ingberg transitioned to a career in marketing after nearly two decades as a television news and sports broadcaster in Detroit and St. Louis, then working in nationally syndicated radio and TV—writing and producing programs for Dick Vitale, Dan Dierdorf, Joe Buck, Bob Costas, and others.
Scott’s unique news, entertainment, and marketing backgrounds provide a perspective, skillset, and focus that serves Abstrakt Studios clients exceptionally well. From hard-sell retail to heart-tugging branding, Scott ensures each video on which he contributes stands out well above the competition—with messaging that’s laser-focused on engaging the client’s desired result. Scott’s marketing strategies and targeted messaging have helped numerous retail businesses throughout the U.S. realize market-dominating sales growth.
Scott and his wife Candie are both Michigan State University alumni and are proud that each of their three young-adult children is in the process of earning (or has just completed) an advanced degree.
Senior Producer
Alex Rankin was born and raised right here in St. Louis. At a young age, Alex fell in love with the magic of movies. If he wasn’t glued to the screen racking up views on Empire Strikes Back or Raiders of the Lost Ark, he was probably out exploring the forests and creeks of Missouri. At age 10, Alex started to explore his fascination with the electric guitar, a craft he tirelessly pursues to this day. In his free time, Alex loves to be with his friends and family on a hike, on the water, or around a fire.
A career in filmmaking seemed like an obvious choice because it combined so many of the things he loves. He’s worked on projects of many shapes and sizes, but his work on the Emmy Award-winning show Inside Pediatrics remains a highlight of his career. Alex lives in Glendale with his wife, Tessa, and their dog Louie. They’re happiest when camping out in the Mark Twain National Forest or soaking up the sun in Southwest Florida on Keewaydin Island.
Video Producer
Born in Bosnia, Ajla moved to the United States with her family when she was 12 years old. In addition to the unique perspective she’s brought to the Abstrakt Studios team, Ajla is, of course, quite skilled in video editing, cinematography and live production. Fellow sports fans are especially envious of her experience working on live events featuring St. Louis Blues hockey, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, plus NCAA basketball and wrestling – including the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals and 2020 NHL All-Star Game.
During her free time, Ajla enjoys listening to music, watching professional sporting events and spending time with her family and friends.
Video Producer
Derek King has been making videos since he was young and is always ready to take on new opportunities to push his talent to the next level. His love of music, lighting, timing, and humor shines through in every project he takes on. The array of productions he’s worked on – from music videos to broadcast TV commercials – demonstrate an incredible level of attention to detail, but Derek makes it all look easy.
Away from the camera and editing booth, Derek is a musician, gamer, and film buff. He keeps plenty busy chasing around his two boys: Desmond and Aiden and traveling with his wife, Elysia.
Video Producer
Passionate for anything creative, Alex Ke strives to take an idea and craft it into a captivating story. Descending as a graduate from the Electronic Arts program Missouri State University, Alex is the Swiss Army Knife. Adept in Editing, Cinematography and Animation, he is able to bring out the vision of any collaborator.
Behind the scenes, Alex is working on personal projects, plus refining and sharpening his talents. However, most of the time, he’s just online with his friends with a game controller in one hand and a hard cider in the other.
Art Director
During the 90s, Erich Krause toured clubs and arenas throughout the country as a beat producer and member of Dallas-based hip hop group Mad Flava – going by the stage name “Hype Dawg.”
Taking a page from the story of many music legends, Erich was self-taught – both in music and as a graphic artist. Seeing Erich’s work as the designer of countless album covers, CD layouts, posters, logos and more, the CEO of Abstrakt Marketing Group recognized Erich’s immense graphic talents and hired him and one of the company’s original employees. And his skills have certainly expanded and flourished ever since.
Erich’s appreciation for the unique and colorful extends to his passion as a tropical fish hobbyist. When relaxing or working at home, he’s flanked by a great variety of fresh-water friends housed in aquariums totaling more than 300 gallons.
Video Producer
Reece got his start in video production the old-fashioned way – working as a freelancer. He absorbed whatever he could from those willing to share their techniques, advice and experiences – and continues to do so today. Reece first developed his craft while filming commercials and live events around his hometown of Springfield, MO. With a passion for everything surrounding film, he has further honed his skills as a videographer, editor, and animator since moving to St. Louis and joining the Abstrakt Studios team.
Outside the studio you’ll find Reece putting his palette to the test at the local restaurants and St. Louis breweries (perhaps you’ve heard about the one that produces 13-million barrels of beer annually).
Video Editor
Hutch is a social media content creator who exudes a deep passion for his craft – both on the clock and off.
From the knowledge he gained while earning a Media Management degree to his field experience in a variety of film and photo genres, Hutch has a knack for creating projects that stand out.
Meet Hutch and you’ll agree he is a well-rounded individual – fueled by a drive to be the best – whether he’s coaching sports, playing competitive video games or creating entertaining content.
Video Editor
Developing a fascination with film in grade school, Patrick began creating video projects as soon as he was able to work a camera (much to the annoyance of his family and teachers).
A Film major at the University of Missouri (M-I-Z) he loves the opportunity Abstrakt has provided to expand his skills in all aspects of video production, and very much looks forward to all opportunities that lie ahead.
In his free time, Patrick enjoys playing music, watching movies, exploring the outdoors, and checking out local bands. You can probably find him with a Busch in hand (Busch???) watching the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals, or Liverpool FC. YNWA!
Project Manager
Alyssa has taken on various positions in the marketing industry for the past four years. Just before she started working at Abstrakt, she spent her days studying marketing management at Missouri State University and keeping busy on campus with Greek life and philanthropy work.
As the video project manager, Alyssa keeps the team organized and the projects flowing, all while giving an “outsider looking in” perspective. She works very closely with each of our partners and values clear communication. Alyssa brings that communicative quality to our video team, along with a passion for improving our product.
She loves to spend quality time with family and friends, trying new recipes, and spending way too much money at Target.
Senior Marketing Manager
Amy has worked at Abstrakt Marketing Group since the beginning. She’s one of the OG’s of the company that totaled TEN employees at the time. There’s now more than 500!
Amy brings 20+ years of automotive marketing experience to the table – and her clients know she is determined and driven in anything she works on. Clients praise her unyielding focus on their happiness. She enjoys getting to know them and building lasting relationships. It’s no wonder why Amy is on so many of her clients’ personal Christmas card lists as well!
When not at work, you can find Amy at one of her kids’ many sporting events, at the gym or spending time with friends and family.
Marketing Manager
Shelby began her Abstrakt career nearly a decade ago as “the voice of her clients” (aka – a social media and reputation management specialist).
Over the years since, she has become the agency’s Swiss army knife/jack of all trades (that’s a DOUBLE analogy) by tackling a variety of roles while working with clients in a variety of industries.
When she’s not devoting her full attention to her clients’ needs, Shelby enjoys being “the fun aunt” to her young niece and nephews, a “helicopter mom” to her dog, trips to the beach, and attempting to pet wildlife.
